About

About us

We are the first and only surf school on the island.  By living and loving the island for over 6 years

already we offer you the best local knowledge on basically anything about surfing and island life.

Since we started in 2013 with only four surf boards and one instructor the interest in surfing in

Zanzibar  has  grown  quickly  and  we  now stock  more  than  15  boards  and  three  instructors

seasonly. Be part of one of the fastest growing attraction on the Southeast Coast and offer your

guests a unique experience in Zanzibar.

About our Trips & Surf Lessons

We offer different surf trips to choose from and suited to all level surfers.

Our most  popular  trip is the famous Dongwe Doughnut surf  trip.  This  trip combines  three different

activities in the beautiful waters right off Dongwe. After picking up everybody from their accommodation

on the Southeast Coast we either start on the beach in Dongwe or Pingwe, a little further north on the

southeast coast. In a covered fiberglass boat packed with surfboards, snacks and water we start our salty

adventure. The first activity to try is the unique underwater wing, an invention from Hawaii that gives you

the feeling of flying underwater. With a snorkel  mask you get towed behind the boat holding on to the

wing. Spins and dolphin-like moves are part of the fun. After everybody got to try the wing we make our

way to Blue Lagoon, the by far best snorkel lagoon on the Southeast Coast. A lunch stop combined with

some snorkeling await you here. Now it is time for some surf lessons in our favorite surf spot - Dongwe

Doughnuts. This spot has three different sections that cater for all level surfers. In an approximately 2 hour

session in the waves  we  hold beginner  lessons  for  the newbies  and advanced guiding for  the more

experienced surfers. Our surf spot has perfect beginner waves that are consistant most times out. After a

good surf and some fun waves we make our way back to the boat and beach. This trip including transfers is

about 4 – 5 hours long.

We can also arrange surf only trips. With smaller groups we usually get a sailing boat to reach the spot.

The surf only trips are around 3 hours long, depending on way of transport and how long the surf stays

good.

Especially for beginners and beginner lessons we find a consistant wave in Zanzibar and surf can be done

on almost every day during June - Mid October and mid-December to mid-March
